Easter weekend! Discover what we have been up to this weekend by visiting "my diary". You will be able to see what Carolina got for Easter.

I played football on saturday and we won 2-1. Again, we played under bad weather with snow. For my part I gave 1 assist, which takes me to 17 assists in as many games.

Who am I?

Well my name is Benoit and I was born in Nantes (France) in 1980. I have a wonderful family living in France who come and visit me occasionally. I live in England since I am 22 years old.

My father. Lionel Mercier. Well my old man is a wise man. He has his own businesses and nowadays, his leisure is to travel around the world. He deserves it. He started working when he was 19 years old. He set up several businesses that were very successful. His latest business is to help English people to find a property in France without beeing conned and to help them settle in easily. He teaches people on how to fill in their paperworks (taxes, electricty bills, etc...). He can do the latest as a consultant. If you wish to find more info or contact him, please click here.

My mother. Annie Mercier. She is the calmest of the family, which is well needed when we are all reunited. She has worked whole her life as a medical secretary and she loves it to bits. She is a great support to us. She recently got a working medal which awards 30 years of services for the same company. I take this opportunity to congratulate her because it is rare nowadays to stay so long in a company.

My sister. Maud Mercier. Well we are very different. She has been successful in her studies and she actually tries to emulate her success in her professional life. I wish her all the best.

My girlfriend. Sandra Carolina Nunez Gutierrez (jeez, I am tired just to write it). She is my other half. She came all the way from Colombia and she ensures that I improve my spanish. She also made me realised how beautiful Colombia is and that it isn't as negative as people talk about it.

England is my nation

Between me and England it is a love story that started when I was 2 years old (see the chapter "my family" for more info). I consider myself as being English rather than French. For those who know me nothing new there. Whilst in England, I have completed a higher education degree (MSc Marketing) and I have had three jobs, including a work experience at Everton FC.

While I enjoy my life in England, I do miss my family and friends. I have a number of close friends in France and I must say that I would love to see them more often just as I would with my family. I met most of my friends while being at school or playing football, which is my main hobby.

Football is my religion

In this blog, I also want to share my football opinions and resources. Football is my religion and England is my saviour (well when they win which is not too often these recent days).

Busy diary

I always try to see family and friends (France and England) as much as I can. I am lucky to count several friends in different parts of the world, and for this reason, I keep a diary of where I go and what I do.

Finally, I am a man that enjoys conversations and giving its opinion. Everyday, I will pick a story which is relevant to what I do, and will discuss it in the i-Conference section.
